Following the success of our pilot programme First-Year Performance Intensive in 2019, we are thrilled to announce our fully accredited Diploma of Musical Theatre CUA50213 to run in 2020.

Daniel Puckey appointed as Musical Director for 2020.  

He was most recently the Musical Director for the Australian tour of Muriel’s Wedding The Musical.​  Previously, he was the Associate Musical Director and Associate Conductor on The Book of Mormon, The Wizard of Oz, The Bodyguard Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, and Hot Shoe Shuffle. He has also worked as a Keyboardist on the Melbourne seasons of Kinky Boots, We Will Rock You, Sound of Music, Lion King and King KongView all faculty.

Through working with qualified teachers and industry professionals, students will work towards developing professional musical theatre skills. 

At the conclusion of the course, students should be equipped to audition for professional musical theatre, or to undertake further professional training.

Full time 8:45am-4:00pm weekdays

Term 1: 10 February – 27 March

Term 2: 14 April – 26 June

Term 3: 13 July – 18 September

Term 4: 5 October – 11 December

I used everything that I was learning from Stage School’s First Year Performance Intensive with all of my teachers and took a lot in from what I learnt from the master class weeks. Focus on the integration of performance skills and choreographic practice in a range of dance styles.

Study music theatre voice technique, including breath support, pitch, range and tone through an exploration of large and small ensemble music theatre songs.

The structure of the course allows intensive skills training and practice to take place alongside rehearsal processes and a wide variety of performance styles.

Explore practical techniques to encourage spontaneity and unlock your imagination. 

Work with a dialect and accent coach to master a range of regional accents and understand the techniques behind it.
